Vidya Bhawan Mahila College, Siwanwas established on 06 September 1977 by a Governing Body with Late Sri Phulena Chaudhary as President and late Sri Dinesh Chandra Guptaas Secretary. The college was founded with a vision to reignite the flame of education in the female students of the town and its suburbs as well as those belonging to remote villages.

The college was recognised as a constituent unit of Bihar University, Muzaffarpur on 01-03-1981 in the glorious presence of Late Dr. Jagannnath Mishra, the erstwhile Chief Minister of Bihar and Late Nasirudd in Haider Khan, the ex-Education Minister of Bihar. Jai Prakash University, Chapra was carved out of Bihar University, Muzaffarpurin November 1992. This collegehas been an integral part of Jai Prakash University, Chapra ever since. At the moment this is the only constituent women’s college in Siwan district.

The construction of the magnificent building of the college was completed in 2002 for which funding was accrued from the then Member of Parliament,Siwan Md.Shahabudd in. Over the years, the success of the students of the college has been exquisite from quantitative as well as qualitative perspectives.

The college imparts undergraduate (Honours) education in all affiliated subjects of Arts faculty as well as Botany and Zoology in the Science faculty. In addition to the undergraduate courses, the college provides quality education to students at Senior Secondary level in Arts and Science streams.Vidya Bhawan Mahila College is committed to ensure all round development of its studentsin terms of education, skill enhancement and personality enrichment.
